deermouse formed in 2026 by five music nerds who love playing and performing. We’re named for the deer mouse (Peromyscus maniculatus), a Michigan native that sings, squeaks, shrieks and drums its front feet. We try to leave out the shrieking.

We fit your event

Ever been to a party where you couldn’t hear your friends over the band? Or wanted to dance, but the smooth jazz wasn’t doing it for you? Your guests are there to celebrate a birthday, recognize generous donors or reconnect at their 50th high school reunion. We know the difference. When the room wants to talk, you still get a live band, just quieter. When it wants to dance, we turn it up.

Events we play
  • Birthday and backyard parties
  • Reunions and retirement parties
  • Farmers’ markets and street fairs
  • Concert series and town celebrations
  • Company picnics and holiday parties
